Amerikan NBC Kanalına Türk Halkından kınama…

18 Aralık 2009 tarihinde NBC´de yayınlanan ´Today´s Show´ isimli programda yayınlanan bir harita bölünmüş Türkiye haritası olunca Türk halkı bu rezilliğe sessiz kalmadı.



Haritada Kürdistan olarak gösterilen bölgenin Türkiye´nin topraklarını da içine aldığını söyleyen vatandaşlarımız tepkilerini çeşitli demokratik yollarla dile getiriyorlar.

Azerbaycan-Türkiye Gençlerinin Dostluk Cemiyeti başkanı Kadir Yıldız ise hazırladıkları İngilizce bir metinle Türk halkını daha duyarlı olmaya çağırdı.

I would like to report something so disturbing to me and the Turkish American community. On December 18, 2009 on the Today´s Show showed a map carving out a country called Kurdistan from the Republic of Turkey and her neighbors. Kurdistan is not an internationally recognized name for the region. It is a name used by Kurdish terrorist groups to indicate their ambition which is to form a state in this region someday in the future. This imaginative Kurdistan state requires changes of current borders of Iran, Turkey and Iraq. When you use Kurdistan name, you are unintentionally supporting Kurdish terrorist group´s objectives. I cannot imagine this can be your purpose. The Kurdish PKK terrorist group has taken 40,000 innocent lives in Turkey so far. They are not just brutal killers, but drug smugglers and human traffickers.

Millions of Turkish people along with people Kurdish origin live in the part of the so called Kurdistan region within Turkish borders. This region is called South East Anatolia, not Kurdistan. There is no such country and I expect a major news organization like NBC – Today Show to know better. Please make the correction to your maps. NBC – Today´s Show should immediately correct this issue and apologize for insulting the Turkish nation.
